Introducing..... Dolce & Gabbana!

I have two gorgeous moggies called Dolce and Gabbana. I made a scrapbook about them when I first started crafting nearly three years ago. So here it is......










Dolce and Gabbana rarely sit next to one another, so this is a relatively rare photograph! The sentiment reads 'Admire leaps of faith. Climb your way to the top, that's why the drapes are there'. I like the way that the rafia ribbon mirrors the material of the scratch post.











This is Dolce (the boy), who is the larger of the two cats. He loved playing with one of the Easter egg boxes! I felt that the colour of the backing paper really complemented the colour of the Easter egg box.











Dolce and Gabbana love playing in the bathroom - they are captivated by running water, bubbles and toilet rolls! I thought the ribbon looked like some of the toilet rolls that they had shredded. I felt it was appropriate that Dolce decided to have a wash in the bathroom!











I struggled with this page, and wasn't particularly pleased with how it turned out. I was trying to incorporate a sheet of 'cat' stickers that I had bought, and some 12 x 12 paper that was in the style of several newspaper articles about cats.



















This page is my favourite! I love the way that the cat is looking out of the window contemplating the outside world, and how it could be Dolce or Gabbana - I'm still not sure who it is! I was surprised at how well the pink embellishments went with the mint background, and think that the sentiment 'Cats leave pawprints on your heart' is very fitting.

A Craft Delivery!

The postman's just delivered a parcel - my order of several sheets of Penny Black Stickeroos - yay!! I haven't used them before, but am looking forward to having a go. They'll come in handy for those 'emergency' cards when I don't have enough time to stamp and colour!!

The Card Corner - Where it all happens!

Well, here it is! It all happens here (when Dolce moves out of the way)!! I've taken over a corner of the spare bedroom with my craft stuff, and I use it more now because it's all organised. It's much better than working on the dining room table - I don't have to keep putting everything away every time a meal is ready! The desk is from Ikea and has a handy cupboard underneath it for storing my paper trimmer and 12 x 12 papers. The shelves and storage boxes are also from Ikea and conceal all the craft bits and pieces that you don't want people to see (the boring bits like glue and scissors). The glass jars and bottles were also Ikea (I think they saw me coming!) and I use them to store ribbons, brads, beads and other embellishments. It's lovely having my own little card corner!!

'Save the Date' Cards

I'm getting married next December (the last Saturday before Christmas - aarghhhh!), and my fiancé and I decided to make our own stationary. 'Save the Date' cards seemed a good idea so people don't double book themselves with Christmas parties! The cards are tiny (7cm x 10cm) and we posted them inside people's Christmas cards. I did the outside and my fiancé printed the inserts - a real team effort! Family and friends have said how nice they are and commented on how professional they look! Much cheaper than printed ones on the internet, and a lot more personal. Looking forward to making the invitations!!!

Hedgehog Swing

I like this card because I don't usually use greens, but I thought the embossing picked out the colour in the stamped image. I'll have to remember this one for male birthdays, which I always find challenging!! Apologies for the photo - it came out a bit too dark.

My second attempt at using my Cuttlebug machine to emboss a card - more successful than the first; I think less is definitely more!

Cat with Pink Roses

I asked for a Cuttlebug machine for Christmas (and Santa delivered - yay)!! This is my first attempt at using it to emboss cards! It's so easy to use, but the difficulty is in deciding what to do with all the embossed paper! I think I might have put too much of the embossed paper onto this card - it might be a case of 'less is more'!

Happy Birthday Present Stack

Another colourful card that I enjoyed making. I like the way that the flower embellishment enhances the colour of the pink and purple striped present!

Animal Party

I wanted to do something really colourful with my new watercolours! A bit fiddly, but worth it. I will add some text to the top of the card when I send it, depending on what the occasion is!!

Thank You Mouse

I thought I'd have a go at making a few thank you cards with some of my Christmas goodies! This was my second attempt using this stamp - I think it was more successful than the first! The shading was better on this card. (Apologies for the quality of the photo)!
